The Pros of Natural Gas Vehicles Part 2

With water storage tanks and other advancements in the fracking industry, natural gas vehicles are now a reality for everyday Americans.

Fracking has made it possible for us to access more natural gas than ever before. The abundance of natural gas that we currently have can be used for many things, including heating our homes, powering our stoves and even fueling our vehicles! However, because natural gas is a fairly new fuel source, there are many pros and cons to natural gas vehicles. Check out the pros of natural gas vehicles that we’ve already gone over by reading our latest blog. Keep reading to learn more:

#4. Natural gas vehicles get better gas mileage.

Not only is compressed natural gas typically cheaper than regular gasoline, natural gas vehicles also get better gas mileage. according to Associated Renewable Inc., the average car that is fueled by regular gasoline gets about 32 miles per gallon, whereas the average natural gas vehicle gets around 43 miles per gallon.

#5. Natural gas vehicles require less maitenance.

As we’ve mentioned before, natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel. Not only does this lead to fewer carbon emissions, it can also lead to less maintenance on natural gas vehicles. This cleaner-burning fuel will even allow you to go longer between oil changes!

#6. Natural gas vehicles drive a lot like gasoline-powered vehicles.

If you make the switch from a gasoline-powered vehicle to a natural gas vehicle, you aren’t likely to notice much of a difference in the way your vehicle runs. The only real difference you may experience is a slightly slower acceleration.

Now that you know about the pros of natural gas vehicles, it’s time to learn about the cons. Stay tuned for our next blog!
