The Energy Information Agency (EIA) predicts lower heating costs for homes that are heated with natural gas and oil.
Whether your home is heated with natural gas, oil or even propane, you will be glad to know that you can expect to pay a little less this winter. According to the EIA, if you heat your home with natural gas, you can expect to pay a full 10% less than you did last year between the months of October and March. This is due in large part to hydraulic fracturing. The more natural gas we have available, the lower the prices you can expect to pay. The EIA also has predicted that homes that use oil for heat can expect to pay as much as 25% less than they did last winter, and homes that use propane can expect to save up to 21%.
